Danny Strong makes his film directorial debut with Rebel in the Rye, a biopic about J. D. Salinger, for which he also wrote the screenplay. Sarah Paulson (Serenity), stars as Salinger’s mother alongside Nicholas Hoult as Salinger and Kevin Spacey as Salinger’s mentor Whit Burnett.

Danny became obsessed with making the biopic after reading J.D. Salinger: A Life by Kenneth Slawenski and proceeded to do his own research before starting work on the screenplay.
