Paul Reubens, best known for Pee-Wee Herman, but know to us for portraying vampire, Amilyn, in the Buffy the Vampire Slayer movie, passed away aged 70 after a six-year battle with cancer. His passing was confirmed in a statement on the official Pee Wee Herman page on facebook, which included a personal statement from Paul.

Please accept my apology for not going public with what I’ve been facing the last six years. I have always felt a huge amount of love and respect from my friends, fans and supporters. I have loved you all so much and enjoyed making art for you.

Paul has asked that any “expressions of sympathy” be made in honour of his late parents Judy and Milton Rubenfeld and has named Stand Up to Cancer, or any organisations involved with care, support and research for those living with Dementia or Alzheimer’s.
