Michael Fairman was born in New York City, and after leaving school joined the U.S Air Force where he graduated as 2nd Lieutenant from Harlington Air Force Base. He went on to log 2500 hours as an Air Force Navigator. It was while he was posted at Tachikawa Air Force Base in Japan that he joined a theater group and took up acting.
On leaving the Air Force he studied at the Dramatic Arts Department of New York University where he landed the lead role in many productions, including many classical roles at the Oregon Shakespearean Festival.
His first movie role came in 1971 when he played Major Eckert in TV Movie, They’ve Killed President Lincoln. Since then he has worked consistently on stage and screen, featuring in shows such as Days of our Lives, Charlie’s Angels, The A-Team,, The Dukes of Hazard, Santa Barbara, 21 Jump Street, Quantum Leap, Cheers, ER, The X-Files, with recurring roles in Hill Street Blues, Cagney and Lacey, L.A. Law, General Hospital, Sunset Beach and more. More recently he has appeared on Bones, The Young and the Restless and is still working today appearing alongside Mark Wahlberg and Mel Gibson in 2022’s Father Stu.
