Gina Torres will star in season two of Tim Minear’s 911 spin off series, 911: Lone Star. Gina will play a retired paramedic, Tommy Vega, who returns to work to support her family when her husband’s restaurant collapses due to COVID.

Speaking of the casting Tim Minear said, “We are so excited to be expanding our 911-verse with the addition of Gina Torres. I’ve been dying to write for her again ever since Firefly. Gina brings warmth, intelligence and command to everything she does. 2020 is finally looking up.”

911: Lone Star is set to resume filming in autumn for a early 2021 premiere.
