Marvel and Sony have confirmed that Drew Goddard will write and direct the most recent incarnation of Spider-Man, rumoured to be called Spectacular Spider-Man. The film is slated to be the first of a three-part series and will not be a new origin story. There are no casting details as yet but the studio are looking for a new lead and the story will likely be set in high-school. The film is currently set of release om 28 July 2017
