NBC has confirmed that “Powerless” a comedy from DC Comics has been given the go ahead for a series. Vanessa Hudgens pays Emily, a “spunky young insurance adjuster specialising in regular-people coverage against damage caused by the crime-fighting superheroes.” The story follows Emily as she “accidentally becomes a cult ‘hero’ in her own right [after standing up to a superhero after an epic battle messes with her commute]… even if it’s just to her group of lovable quirky co-workers. Now, while she navigates her normal everyday life against an explosive backdrop, Emily might just discover that being a hero doesn’t always require superpowers.”

The series also starts Alan Tudyk, Danny Pudi and Christina Kirk and is written by Ben Queen.
