Jessica Gardner Talks New Series ‘Slayers: A Buffyverse Story’!
The Buffyverse is back with fan-favorite characters from the original series, but this time with a twist in an all-new story.
Buffy The Vampire Slayer is back with a brand new story, but instead of seeing this on the TV screens, fans will get to listen to their favourite characters back in action on Audible.
The new series is called Slayers: A Buffyverse Story and brings back fan-favorite characters, Spike, Cordelia, Tara and more, as they continue to face the forces of evil. This time, the story occurs in an alternate universe where Buffy Summers does not exist and Cordelia Chase is the slayer.
Another iconic character that makes a return is Amy Madison, but this time voices by Jessica Gardner.
Gardner spoke with AfterBuzz TV about coming in to play Amy and what it’s like now being a part of the Buffyverse.
“To become part of this franchise is something that I never experienced… The Buffy fans have a 30-year fan base, and they are huge and are in multiple countries. I feel the amazing thing about this fandom is they are supportive. It’s been such an honor to be able to join this universe.” Said Gardner about what it was like joining the Buffyverse.
The audible series brings many original cast members from the Sunnydale days including, Amber Benson, Charisma Carpenter, and James Marsters.
“I was so lucky because they decided to record this in a big recording studio. it was so incredible to work with Amber as Tara.” Said Gardner. “The team also asked me if I wanted to watch James and Charisma, and I was able to watch them do what they did. They are all incredible actors.”
Even though this series is not on television screens, Gardner wants fans to know that this is not a podcast, but a story.
“You will be immersed in it the second you start listening. If you love the classic characters you grew up watching they are all in it, and it’s exciting. It’s got the comedy and the mystery. If you love the original series, you are going to gobble this up.” Explained Gardner.
Outside of Slayers, Gardner is a recurring character on NCIS and also a content creator, where she talks about her love for theme parks and roller coasters.
Season one of Slayers: A Buffyverse Story is available now on audible.
