According to a report from Variety, ABC weren’t looking to renew Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D for another season once Season 4 ended. Their decision appears to be due to the channel finding themselves in a ratings slump across all their shows and looking to boost this for the coming season by introducing new shows, rather than continuing old ones that are being beaten by other networks offerings. Disney, however, reportedly stepped in and forced a renewal, giving us a Season 5, although the show has now moved from it’s Tuesday slot to a Friday one.
