Welcome to the Buffyverse and Beyond Firefly page. Firefly was Joss Whedon’s first completely new show. It aired on Fox and was given a Friday night “death slot”, aired out of order and often moved for sports. Fox cancelled the series after only 11 episodes due to low ratings, but the series picked up followers when the DVD released prompting Universal to greenlight the movie, Serenity and allow the story to come to a conclusion. Firefly remains a cult classic to this day.
