Robin was born a third generation actor whose parents owned theatres in Aspen, Atlanta and Syracuse. Consequently she grew up around the theatre, on stage, back stage and in the foyer and was constantly travelling with her family until she finally made the move to Los Angeles.
Robin began her acting career at the age of just two years old and was classically trained including two seasons spent with the Colorado Shakespeare Festival, as well as various productions in upstate New York theatres.
Robin spent some time traveling in Europe before finally making the decision to move to Hollywood to pursue her career. She soon landed a job working at a burger stand on the corner of Sunset and Vine, where a regular customers included television producers, one of whom, decided to run a story on her for his weekly magazine show. With some actual television footage under her belt, the work started rolling in.
Her first few television credits followed something of a theme, with roles as “1st Nurse” on Flying Misfits in 1976, “Nurse Perry” in M.A.S.H. and “Sexy Nurse” in Welcome Back, Knotter both in 1977. From here she has worked continuously on and off screen, guesting starring in numerous television shows, including Fantasy Island, The Greatest American Hero, The A-Team, Airwolf, Diagnosis Murder, Clueless, Malcom in the Middle, Six Feed Under, Cold Case, NCIS, Boston Legal, Bones, as well as Buffy the Vampire Slayer, with recurring roles on several shows including a two year stint on Get a Life, appearances on Days of Our Lives, The Bold and the Beautiful and more recently, General Hospital.
Despite her on-screen success, Robin often returns to theatre which she describes as her “soul food”. Recent productions have included All My Sons alongside Neil Patrick Harris at The Geffen Playhouse in Los Angeles for which she received a Best Supporting Actress Nomination.
When not acting, Robin enjoys writing and has written a book, A Survivor’s Guide to Hollywood.
